“If You Fail to Plan, You Are Planning to Fail”—Benjamin FranklinHappy Friday Ladies!!!! Today I’m going to discuss how 1 hour of planning on Sunday can change your whole week. If you make it a habit, it may change your whole life! Our Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin is credited with the famous quote “If You Fail to Plan, You Are Planning to Fail”It’s unrealistic to plan every step of your life. On the other hand, it’s highly effective to map out your goals and the steps you need to take to achieve them. This is where some simple planning comes into the equation.Financial advisors will always ask for your goals. Maybe you have a goal to retire at a certain age. Maybe it’s moving somewhere tropical. In every case they’ll figure out your end goal and work the numbers backwards into small achievable actions. These actions will be yearly, monthly, and weekly things that you can do to achieve your desired result. The same thing should be done with your fitness. It puzzles me the amount of people who are wildly successful in their careers and financial lives, but have no plan on how to be healthy enough to enjoy their hard work later in life! Here’s a hint. You can’t enjoy life if you’re dead.So what are some weekly actions that can change your life? Read below and I’ll let you know what I think is important.Meal Prepping. If you plan and prep your lunches at home on the weekend, the odds of you eating something unhealthy or going to the drive thru is much lower. How many times have you been at work and thought to yourself at noon, “what am I going to have for lunch today?”Meal Planning. Sitting down with your spouse/family and write down what you’re going to cook for dinner each night of the week. Do this on the weekends so you’ll have time to get the ingredients. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ended up with an unhealthy dinner because I didn’t plan. Or didn’t cook the planned meal because I was missing an ingredient.Exercise Schedule- Plan your exercise/activity times for the upcoming week. Here at Fit Girl Fitness we have an app where you register for classes. There’s a greater chance that you’ll complete all your classes if you sign up early. Plan to Fail. Life isn’t perfect. You WILL have bad days and weeks. This is ok. Life happens. If you deviate from your plan on Tuesday, there’s a good chance that you’ll get back on track for Wednesday! This one is so important. Know that life happens and some days will be healthier than others. If this is part of you’re PLAN, you’ll know to expect it. You’ll get back on track.Consistently plan the four things outlined above and you’ll be well on your way to a fit lifestyle. Training clients on the gym floor is a small part of my day.
